Public Policy Polling did a poll which included the following question:
"Do you think the Government should stay out of Medicare?"
The results: 39% said yes, 46% said no, and 15% said they were not sure. That means that a majority of those polled (54%) apparently do not understand that Medicare is in fact a government program.

I'm always skeptical of polls like this, in that I have a really hard time believing that so many people are that out of touch with reality. It seems possible to me that some percentage of respondents interpreted the question as whether government should stay out of healthcare, not medicare.
Nevertheless, it's sad that so many are so ill-informed on such a basic issue.
The other lovely gem: 62% of the respondents who answered "yes" to the question voted for McCain.
This is the opposition, ladies and gentlemen. Ignorance, thy name is "conservative."
And Gibbs is still insisting that the White House wants a Bi-partisan Health Care Reform bill with the support of those elected by these bozos.
