Nebraskan are typically nice people so I would be surprised to see any big out burst. It seems very respectful. Nelson said he would take the public plan saying it will probably be better than what he has now!
Update: Let me clarify, when asked if he would enroll in the public plan if passed, and he said yes.
Conclusion: Well it doesn't sound like Nelson supports the public plan. He pussy-foots around it. Frankly, I cannot believe that I am dissappointed.
He thinks that b/f we have a po, we should fix medicare/aid. He doesn't understand how having po could lower costs until the issues with medicare/aid are addressed.
Most of the questioners were really respectful. Some were even democrats, in fact one conservative was for the PO. The last questioner (a progressive) was begining her question (talking about medicare, school, and etc) before some in the crowd started yelling. Instead of letting her finish her question, he cut her off saying he knew what she was asking. He fininshed with we need to find a way to close the gap between insured and unisured (duh...its called the Public Option).
I don't understand these people. I can make so many arguements for reform but the one, the one that is so basic, is moral imperative. It gulls me that these "Sunday Christian" will not support this whole-heartedly. These people have to be called out on this contradiction!
Who should get health care?????
ARG!! I cannot believe what I am seeing!
