Those on the right who are now bring up their "concern" about their direction of the government and feel that the 10th amendment is being now violated, but said nothing about the Medicare D plan that was not paid for but also fail to recognize the words in the pledge of allegiance.
I attended Rep Joe Barton of TX Town Hall on Wednesday and what struck me is that the pledge of allegiance was not recited. I realized that Dems going to GOP town halls need to ask that this be done so people will be reminded that America is a nation of united states, one nation, under God. And that we should come together as a nation to solve our problems. And that the election was the nation's way of showing the world our united community decision and direction we want to move.
I remember how after the 2004 election Dems were suppose to have fell into a depression; now it looks like the GOP have gone off the cliff into delusion, anger, fear and paranoia. With so many coming to town halls talking about how they are upset with the direction of the country and the president is not interested in the constitution, or not born in America; this is about the POTUS’s race as a Black man. And everyone needs to clamp down on these sentiments. Oh yeah, they have free speech rights but cloaked threats against the POTUS and outright threats against our first family, country and government should not be tolerated.
The sentiments that our nation made a grave mistake in electing President Obama worthy of taking drastic violent action, has to be confronted, immediately and swiftly.
Let’s start a campaign to have the pledge of allegiance spoken often and recited so as to send the message that this is still is the USA, united, one nation under God!
