Via TPM, today I read about 13 Democratic Senators who are on the fence when it comes to passing a public option. I've been doing all I can in my own state of MN to make sure that Senator Franken and Senator Klobuchar work to pass a public option (both are in favor), but I think it would mean a lot more to these senators if they heard from their own constituents about passing a public option. Please everyone, if your senator is on this list, take the time to call/write him/her today!
Who are the "Gang of 13"? TPM divides them into 3 categories, The Waverers, The Mysteries, and The Haters. The Waverers could take it or leave it, they don't particularly care to fight one way or the other for a public option. The Mysteries are just unclear which way they lean. And The Haters, well, you get where they are on the whole issue.
The Waverers
Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT)
Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE)
Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT)
Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA)
Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR)
Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR)
Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN)
The Mysteries
Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL)
Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE)
Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK)
Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND)
The Haters
Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT)
Please everyone, take a moment to contact a senator, especially if you are one of their constituents! Even if you called or wrote once, do it again! Use this link to find the contact info if you don't know it!
