Because damnit, if you aren't going to go to our games, then we aren't going to let you see your teams.
Roger Goodell says it'll be a challenge for the Jacksonville Jaguars and some other clubs to avoid television blackouts this season.
The NFL commissioner visited the Washington Redskins players and coaches. Speaking about the Jaguars, who the Redskins play on the road Thursday in their final preseason game, Goodell said the club is "one of the markets where we're seeing some challenges from ticket sales coming into the 2009 season."
Yeah, some thing with the economy may be a reason and all.
Goodell said the league has been working with clubs to find more creative ways to entice fans to the games during the economic downturn.
Yes, creative ways in order for him to end these potential local blackouts to these teams and their fans.
Their fans who have nothing to do with this negatively, who still love their teams, but will get punished because Goodell and his big wig owners aren't happy that their multi-million dollar stadiums aren't being sold out.
Since they aren't full, I guess it is time for you to suffer the consequences fans. Either go get DirectTv or tough luck seeing your team this season LIVE. You might have to get the radio ready because you won't have any love from us on the TV. That's the love the NFL gives to the ones who made it the behemoth it is today.
Yet just the latest arrogant move by a league only driven by its profit making and money getting at the fans' expense. Goodell wouldn't even come close to making this move unless he clearly cared for the supporters of these teams.
But he doesn't though.
And even in this horrible economical time, where going to an NFL game this season isn't feasible for some, the commissioner of the No Fun League doesn't give a real damn thought about that.
Only thing on his mental is "Where is my profit revenue?"
