Great speech last night. It was a stirring defense of pragmatic liberalism. The man sure knows how to move me.
But as I sat on my couch fighting goosebumps and tears, I remembered this:

We have now heard the speech. We have heard the principles the president says he stands for. But what he is going to DO?
I pose that question in the context of those White House meetings, not as proof of anything, but simply a reminder of steep hill we must climb in fighting these entrenched interests.
Soon, we will find out what Obama will do. Soon, we will find out who he's really fighting for.
Until then, we should fight like hell for a public option like our lives depend on it. Because in many cases, they do.
