One of my favorite days of the year is always when the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) release their list of the most corrupt members of Congress. Today was that day.
Seeing the report today cheered me up on a dreary dismal day, when I have a lot of work to do. The list and full report is available at their website

The list is pretty much split evenly between Democrats and Republicans.
Some people included on the list are the obvious suspects-- Charlie Rangle and Roland Burris among the Democrats and John Ensign and Don Young among the Republicans.
Also on the list on the Republican side was Jerry Lewis, representative from California, for steering earmarks to his family and friends in exchange for campaign contributions. I guess he was following along the lines of his namesake (the actor) and working as The Errand Boy.
Somewhat surprising was the inclusion of Maxine Waters for violating conflict of interest rules in trying to get the Treasury to help a bank that she had financial ties with. Alas, I have heard Maxine many times on time and even a few times in person. I thought that she was bright and articulate. Sorry to see her on this.
The full report, along with all the goodies on the badies, is available at the CREW website. Enjoy!
