There are about five hundred things to be angry about in the story of the "Defund ACORN Act", the latest take on which was posted on HuffPo today by Jason Linkins:
The Unintended Consequences of the Defund ACORN Act
First, that Congress should have been involved in this kind of oversight of government contracting a long time ago, and with greater stringency.
Second, that they only now seem to have accidentally stumbled upon their duties through an effort to engage in such oversight of a small organization that receives a paltry proportion of funds compared to others.
Third, that they rushed to do this because they were afraid of media-generated scandal.
But Fourth, that the media will deny their power in generating said scandal, and will refuse to acknowledge that if they actually did, you know, investigative reporting, Congress might regularly rush to do its job with respect to issues like this. And they won't even cover it.
This is a call to Keith and Rachel, our only representatives on the TV MSM (ok, maybe Ed too), to cover this story.
And to ask David Gregory and Chuck Todd why they aren't covering this story or taking it seriously.
Because this is NOT. FUNNY.
