Here are three things Hamas apologists say that never fail to make me laugh. I know that the "death to Israel" crowd will flame me, but I personally could care less. BS is still BS no matter how many people swear by it.
- Israel is using excessive force - This is just plain stupid. Excessive force is civilian concept that does not exist in times of war. If you spit in a cops face and he responds by shooting you in the head, that is excessive force; in war this concept goes out of the window. If two medieval armies face off against each other, army A fires ten arrows at Army B, Army B responds with a thousand arrows, is army B guilty of excessive force? How can any war be won without one side using force that is excessive to the others?
In war there are WARCRIMES, and you can't commit them, but there is no such thing as excessive force, in a war you do all you can to win. Israel does not have the luxury of fighting half-arsed wars like some spoiled empire looking for adventure.
- Israel must discriminate between the militant and civilian infrastructure of Hamas - No they don't. Nice try moron. Hamas is a terror organization, if you are in any way affiliated with them you give Israel permission to drop a bomb on your house. I don't care if you dispatch suicide bombers, launder their money, or record their propaganda broadcasts, you will be blown to pieces and don't be surprised when it happens. If the US military finds Osama, they can kill both him and the guy who cooks his breakfast, both are terrorists.
- Israel must not target schools, mosques, or residential areas - a reasonable request even if the opposition doesn't return the courtesy, however it can only be followed if the civilian areas are not used for war operations. If a minaret is used as a sniper position, its no longer a minaret, its a snipers nest. If a school is used as a lunching ground for rockets, its no longer a school, its a missile silo. If an apartment building is used as a command and control center, its no longer an apartment building, its an enemy military installation. If you don't want Israeli tank shells in your living room, don't fire mortars from your roof!
