Back in the general election, I donated $10 to RNC just to see what they were up to...and I'm certain they've spent many times that trying to get a few more bucks. Ain't happening boys.
Today's email is just another in a long string following their standard scenario:
1) Here is why you should be afraid.
2) Scared enough to send us money?
3) If not, how about those left-wing bad guys waiting to nail you?
4) Scared now? No? Damn!
Our lesson for 2009: Fear Divides Us, Hope Unites!
RNC Email of 1/15/2009
Dear William,
You should have recently received your 2009 Republican National Committee Membership Card in the mail. If you have not had a chance to return your contribution via the postal system yet, I hope you will take a moment right now to reaffirm your commitment to our Party with a secure online gift by clicking here.
William, RNC Sustaining Members are the foundation of our Party -- your generous assistance to all our GOP candidates and steadfast dedication to our core conservative principles is truly remarkable.
Your continued personal support for our Party is more important now than ever as Democrats now control the entire federal government.
Our Party must stand united if we are to stop the disastrous left-wing policies the Obama Democrats have in store for America.
Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are hoping their enlarged congressional majorities will allow them to ram through Obama’s bigger government, higher taxes, and socialized health care schemes. They will do, say, and spend whatever it takes to pay off their special interest allies that helped put them in power. We cannot allow them to succeed in pushing our country to the Left.
It will take the commitment of every loyal Republican -- RNC Sustaining Members like you William -- to provide the resources our GOP leaders need to block the Obama Democrats’ ambitions.
And our Party needs your help if we are to spread our message of spending restraint, limited government, economic opportunity, personal freedom and a strong national defense.
That is why I am asking you to make a secure online contribution of $10, $15 or $20 to the RNC today to ensure our Party is ready for the battles ahead. Thank you.
Best Wishes,
Robert M. "Mike" Duncan
Chairman, Republican National Committee
P.S. William, your 2009 RNC Sustaining Membership Card identifies you as one of our Party’s top supporters. I hope you will carry it as a symbol of your support for our Party and our cause. And please take this opportunity to help keep our Party moving forward by making a secure online contribution of $10, $15 or $20 to the RNC today. Thank you.
