So, we’ve been wondering for the past few weeks who Blair House guests would be.
As it turns out, it’s the former Prime Minister of Australia
Blair House Guest revealed
The overnight visitor at the presidential guest house is former Australian prime minister John Howard, who is in Washington to be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
At first, I was pretty angry. After all, President-elect Obama should have the right to stay at the Blair House as the incoming President. It’s not even the CURRENT Prime Minister of Australia, it’s the former Prime Minister of Australia. John Howard also supported Bush in the Iraq War. So what the crap?
However, at the same time, it’s not like the guest is one of Cheney’s hunting buddies or one of Bush’s cronies (which is what I half-expected). I guess Scooter Libby didn’t want to stay at the Blair House that weekend.
I suppose it’s nothing to get up in arms about...if this is the worst thing that Bush does in the final months of his Presidency, then we should consider ourselves lucky. Despite the jerk-store move, the Obamas have found a place to stay. Just another notch for Bush on the jackass totem pole.
