As usual, George Will, serial dissembler, lies again in his column in today's WaPo.
As his columns on climate change have proven, the facts are never an obstacle when Mr. Will has an agenda to pursue.
Today's column is no exception.
First of all, lots of Republicans shop at Whole Foods, especially in Bethesda, an exceedingly wealthy enclave northwest of Washington D.C. Including, evidently, Mr. Will...
The parking lot has lots of different types of cars, including lots of oversized space hogging SUVs. But Mr. Will won't mention that because the truth is SO INCONVENIENT when you have 'LIBRULS' to skewer.
But he continues:
If you think the health-care town halls in August cornered the market on anger, come to Bethesda and watch the private security force -- normal men in an abnormal situation -- wage a losing struggle to keep the lid on liberal anger. When parking-lot congestion impedes the advance of responsible eaters toward the bin of heirloom tomatoes, you see that anger comes in many flavors.
Where to begin...
No one carries guns to Whole Foods in Bethesda, at least not in any of my weekly visits there. No one is carrying misspelled racist signs either. In fact, I would bet most patrons of this supermarket know how to spell, and also know that Medicare is a hugely popular and successful government program.
And the 'private security force': ummmmm, not so private. They are off duty Montgomery County police officers. Anyone with an IQ over 30 and an interest in journalistic integrity could tell that by looking at their uniforms.
Obviously, Mr. Will has no interest in the truth. But we already knew that.
George, loosen the bow-tie, it is cutting off the circulation to your brain.
