The following new ad by Joe Sestak for Senate is brilliant.
"Specter used the money from Democrats," the script goes, "so he could continue to pay back his Republican donors."
After switching political parties, Specter has returned $225,000 to GOP donors who have demanded their money back.

The final day to get a refund for your donations to Arlen Specter 2010 is this thursday, Oct 15 2009. I doubt anyone who is reading this donated to Arlen Specter the Republican, but anyone who is donating to Arlen Specter the quasi-Democrat is actually paying back the Republican. Confused yet? To be honest, I have no idea what the hell Specter is, and I suspect the moment he wins Re-Election he will morph back into what he used to be, a conservative shill. Arlen Specter only and has only belonged to one party, the Arlen Specter party. That is why we should help Joe Sestak trounce Specter in the primaries.

While turncoat Senator Arlen Specter (?-PA) is rushing to pay back his former GOP donors, Democrat Joe Sestak (D-PA) wrote an article at Huffington Post to detail why he feels we MUST repeal DADT.
Over the last 16 years we've lost 12,500 good servicemembers to this policy. In a time of war, our national security cannot afford to lose these troops, especially high-value specialists and linguists. But more so, our military cohesion depends on honesty and integrity. How can we demand that the 65,000 of our troops who are estimated to be gay act dishonestly and conceal information from their comrades and commanders? No one who serves in defense of liberty should be forced to live a lie.
I cannot imagine denying equal rights to anyone I served with. How can anyone say, we fought and served together, we depended on one another, we risked our lives for this country, but back home you shouldn't enjoy the rights that you defended?

Arlen Specter, on the other hand, has yet to spoeak out on this vital civil rights issue. Even if Specter does, can anyone believe he is sincere? If so, I have a bridge to nowhere I'd love to sell you.
Why the White House would back a Senator who is sure to bite the hand that feeds him as soon as he is re-elected mystifies me. Perhaps it is because they are true to their word. Either way, I look at every dollar raised for Specter as a dollar totally wasted to help a DINO with no loyalty to anyone other than himself. Pehaps President Obama knows something we do not. If so, I would love it if he were to tell me why I should think Specter is anything other than a self interested opportunist, but I think this is one thing even Obama couldn't talk me into, skilled as he is.
It is interesting to watch both of these candidates move left, but there is a silver lining for those who have not learned much about Sestak. As a three star former admiral, Sestak would help shore up Democrats creds on being "strong on Defense", a title the GOp has somehow managed to keep a stranglehold on despite constantly being wrong on defense decisions. Further, Sestak would be a shoe in for the Armed Services and Intelligence committee, which would be a huge influence for the Senate over more moderate Dems and wingnuts who go by the gameplan "bomb first, surge second, plan later"
But most of all, helping Joe Setak beat Arlen Specter will send a message to every other conservative leaning Democratic Senator, and that message will be "Do NOT Fluk with the base. We want CHANGE now, and we WILL kick you out if you stand in our way."

At the end of the day, Sestak voted for Obama, and Specter voted for Sarah Palin. With that and more clever ads like the one above, Specter has what it takes to win this Senate seat, but he needs our help, and I am glad to send the Senate a message.
