Who can forget the bold statement of the denial-ridden, clearly uninformed and dangerously out-of-touch presidential candidate - John McCain- who on September 15, 2008 told the world on that fateful "Black Monday" that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong". Not only did he become the joke of the Democratic Party (as well as members of his own party), he proved once and for all that the Republican Party was so out of touch with reality that they either did not know or did not care that our entire financial system was tanking, and that our ship was going down fast.
Shorly thereafter, America voted and the results of the presidential election were clear. By electoral vote, our President had won by a landslide in a race that would yield 365 electoral votes to 164.
Everyone in the world - with the exception of the Republican Party - knew that our President was walking into the worse financial disaster since the Great Depression, among other things. Everyone also knew that it was the Republican Party, under the so-called leadership of George W. Bush, that had created the financial disaster with the direct assistance of its own party, the press and the media.
In the meantime, the historical stimulus package proposed by the President was working its way through the system with no Republican support and nothing but negativity, hatefulness and a clear disdain for all things Obama. In the end, the President and the American people prevailed.
It didn't take long for the incompetent and hateful FOX News, Rush Limpballs, Sean Insanity and Bill "O'Really!" to begin blaming President Obama on a daily basis for the decline in the stock market and using graphics with his picture next to them to illustrate that it was President Obama's fault that the DOW, S&P and every other measuring tool of Wall Street was down, down, down.
Then came the hopes, wishes and dreams of the leader of the Republican Party - Rush Limpballs - that he hoped that the President of the United States would fail.
Fast forward to today. Breaking NEWS! FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE OCTOBER 7, 2008, THE DOW TOPS 10,000
Hey FOX, have you got any graphics to depict President Obama with the breaking news of the DOW topping 10,000 today?
Hey Limpballs - guess what! Neither the President nor America are going to fail.
The End.
