I have a friend that just started a new blog. This is part of a new diary he did.
Is this the kind of people we're looking for in '08 ? His Governor?
BTW: He's also a cousin of Tipper Gore....:}

Many citizens feel that one way to establish common ground again between the voters and the potential leaders, is to bring about a candidate for President who exemplifies a "Centrist" view of the issues confronting the taxpaying citizens who vote. There are more people hoping for a conservative approach than ever before, but the folks on the left continue to stand their ground on a number of key issues. As long as there are right side and left side interests, and people to convey them, there will be division.
A leader who can maintain a strong management style, with the anticipation to aggressively work on both sides of the political spectrum can and will be successful. One of the best examples of this type of governing has been exemplified in the Commonwealth of Virginia, where Governor Mark Warner was successful in turning a six billion dollar deficit back around to a surplus. In fact the surplus created was the largest in the states' history, and continues to allow Virginians to flourish both economically and morally. It was all done by government job and spending cuts where programs were not benefiitting the people. Not a dime of tax was raised during this process. Any tax raises that took place arbitrarily were conducted by local governments.
As a result, Virginia was named the best managed state in the country, and Warner was named the Governors' Association head. He accomplished such feats by teaming with both Democrats and Republicans to iron out a plan to eliminate pork barrel spending, placing Virginia on the list of one of the most desirable places to live, and offered a management style that would not disorient the voters nor his constituents.
American politics will be forever changed by people like Governor Warner who set an outstanding example of bi-partisan, centrist thinking. This is what America needs. It offers a source for the benefits of re-unifying the country, the voters, and the people who choose to go into public service. It is absolutely critical that voters look toward unity, and the using of common sense when choosing public servants.
