In a massive spontaneous protest, the likes of which Washington has never seen, the Associate Press is now estimating between 800,000 and 1.2 MILLION average, everyday, hard working, real, white, heterosexual, Americans showed up to protest the government takeover of Grandmas unveiled by Nancy Pelosi today on the House steps.
Here's a picture from this massive protest that Glenn Beck is now calling "the greatest uprising since that awesome thing in Braveheart when they all, like, charged down the mountain behind Mel Gibson!":
TPM has more.
Republican pundits were quick to seize on such a massive showing of regular American citizens:
"Never before in American history, no, global history, have we seen such a large protest formed so quickly and so organically! I personally counted at least 450,000 of them myself from aerial photographs, so I know it to be true." -- Sean Hannity
"It's like them good old fashion lynchings I remember my pappy telling me about. Only instead of hanging uppity negras, we're hanging health care! Not that I endorse lynchings. This is strictly a metaphor and if you call me a racist, you're the real racist for abusing charges of racism!" -- Pat Buchanan
"Whether or not it wasn't really 1.2 million or not doesn't matter. What matters is it was possible that 1.2 million showed up. And if they didn't, they wanted to. Therefore they really did, whether they did or didn't." -- Rush Limbaugh
"The liberal media will tell you only ten or fifteen people showed up to protest. Ten people! Clearly, this is ludicrous, as 1.2 million people showed up. And you know this is true, because I'm telling you this is true! Up next, Britney Spears gets an enema and we're on the scene!" -- Fox & Friends
"The mainstream media refuses to cover these massive protests simply because the actual people protesting numbered in the teens. But how many terrorists were there on 9/11? Yet we covered those guys for years!" -- Bill Kristol
"Obama is a failure. I know this because the picture next to my editorial shows my serious, scholarly facial expression." -- Charles Krauthammer
"Protesting invading foreign countries is boooring. That's not news. This is where the action is!" -- Roger Ailes
"Fucking Mexicans. Wait, what are we talking about?" -- Lou Dobbs
"Sober, serious punditry requires me to excoriate the liberal media for failing to report that while only ten people showed up, nearly 1.2 million people may or may not have been stuck in traffic on the highway. Were 1.2 million people stuck in traffic on the way to the protest? It's not for me to say." -- Chris Wallace
"Holy crap, I failed as a father." -- Mike Wallace.
"Liberals are really facists, and also socialists, and the fact I don't know the difference really won't affect my ramblings getting published in every major newspaper in the country as "editorials" because I'm, like, totally qualified to opine on political events. Because, hey, I've, like, read books and stuff." -- Jonah Goldberg
"Holy crap, I totally succeeded as a mother!" -- Lucienne Goldberg
"I remember raising taxes and building a broad U.N. coalition before responding to Hussein in 1991, because those were the undeniable facts of the situation. When did the republican party turn into a bunch of absolute nutbags?" -- George H. W. Bush
"Pappy, how do you like them apples?" -- George W. Bush
