Final update at bottom.
This is deeply disturbing. Yet another massacre is currently taking place at an office building in Orlando, Florida.
At least eight people were injured in a mass shooting inside a downtown Orlando high-rise just before noon Friday, according to the Orlando Fire Department.
While not jumping to conclusions, we have to start asking why this is happening with such frequency.
WESH 2 reporter Gail Paschall-Brown, who is at the scene on the ground, said that 15 employees came out of the building very distraught. Paschall-Brown spoke with one who said that a former employee came into the office who hadn't worked at the company in over a year.
We must use all the usual cautions involving breaking news: details are always sketchy and frequently wrong in the early stages of stories like this. And it seems doubtful that yesterday's tragedy at Ft. Hood was for the same type of reason as today's incident.
MSNBC adds some details:
One person was killed and at least seven others were wounded in a shooting incident inside a downtown Orlando high-rise building Friday morning, authorities said.
Along with some information about the location:
Gateway Center is a 16-story office building that was built in 1999.
Interstate 4 eastbound has been shut down while police converge on the area.

The Mayor of Orlando has confirmed that the suspect is in custody. There is one confirmed fatality. I've got work to do, so I will be unable to update further.
