This is only a few blocks from where I'm working.
Officers were called to the intersection of Southwest Martinazzi Avenue and Warm Springs Street at 11:48 a.m.
Police said an armed person fired shots at the business.
A witness said the armed person was carrying two guns and reported hearing multiple shots and later a person running from the area with blood on her legs.
Not much to report as yet. One person is confirmed dead and various reports are saying as many as ten people injured. Shooter is in custody.
I'll update as things progress.
Updates over the jump.
Now the report seems to be that it is "believed" the suspect is no longer at large. Your guess is as good as mine what that means. Also, there are now two confirmed dead, one man and one woman.
UPDATE 1: More info here. Hat tip to Turkana.
Authorities say they have secured the scene of a shooting in Tualatin in which the gunman was fatally shot and up to 10 other people may have been injured.
The shooting was reported at a business near 7591 SW Mohawk at about 11:48 am, according to Tualatin Police spokeswoman Jennifer Massey. The shooting may have been at a drug-testing center in a strip mall at the intersection of Southwest Martinazzi Avenue and Warm Springs Street.
"At this time, police have confirmed at least one deceased," Massey said. "Police have information that the area is safe and the suspect is no longer at large."
UPDATE 2: Police press conference confirmed that the shooter was found dead inside the building of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. One woman was also found shot to death. Two people were taken to hospitals, one of them lifelined, so she must be in bad shape.
UPDATE 3: I think it's possible that there were more injuries than the official report suggests, but from glass cuts rather than gunshot wounds. One witness interviewed by a Portland TV station said he was pulling into a parking lot across the street from the drug testing lab and saw a woman covered in blood running from over there. He said she had cuts all over her face and body. She told him that a man had shot out a glass door or window and had then come into the building and opened fire.
So it's likely that there were people who didn't require hospitalization who sustained more minor injuries.
