Now is the time for all of us to take a long look at how far we have come and how far we have yet to go. There seems to be a real tug for the soul of America. The Republicans have shown themselves to be keepers of the Chaos theory: if you keep people running around screaming long enough, fearful of their lives, eventually they'll go mad enough to agree with everything you have to say. The opposite lesson one learns from the "Boy That Cried Wolf". I think they're going to learn that the jig is up.
It is not entirely their fault that we are where we are now. They have had some help from the Democrats. But as with all things, this too must change. The problem as I see it is actually very simple, but there are many who make it far too complex in order to prevent themselves from resolving it. So that we may resolve problems, we must make order out of chaos. I know this can be done because it had been done before, over and over again. History is littered with humanity’s successes and failures, this era being no different.
We have to start with our mentality, where our head is at. The great unspoken topic: slavery. If we cannot set aside our master/slave mentality, we will never truly be free. In order to do that, we need to talk about why humanity and Americans in particular haven't been able to move away from this model for society. There's a belief that there are some who only can follow orders that they are better off being led, while that may be true it is then incumbent upon those that lead to do so responsibly, to not take advantage. It is up to us, who neither want to lead nor follow, to make sure that those in charge do not exploit the situation. This is why I believe we are ripe for real change, not just in America but around the globe.
Due to our great leaps forward in technology we now no longer live in a world where events can be kept hidden and a narrative can be created to nullify what actually transpired. We have seen this with the protests in Iran and also here in America with teabaggers who are being interviewed and cannot explain their position, or show that they don't know the facts and make decisions based on opinion.
For some they may feel that by everyone being free to live a life of quality, filled with love and contentment that somehow takes away their individual freedom. It is this twisted logic that has been used, nay abused, to somehow always classify people so that there is the other. In that way, the master attempts to pit slave against slave because one will always try to curry the favor of the master while the other will attempt to free them both. And here we are again, the question I ask my fellow slaves is even now will you still curry favor? Or allow those of us who wish to be free from the master to free all of us?
For far too long we have used tomorrow's dollars to pay for today, now is the time to use today's dollars to pay for tomorrow. I‘m speaking of the three-legged stool: education, renewable green energy and health care. The Republicans have spent the last however many years preventing us from progressing. Instead of spending money on education, making sure everyone has access to learning; they believe tax cuts are the answer. Instead of preserving our world, care taking the nature around us, they prefer to allow businesses to pollute our land, water resources and air. Instead of assuring that we have an abundance of caretakers for our health, they prefer to pay a middleman to manage the money that goes from individuals to our health care providers. And because of our lack of interest in investing in education over the last several years we are short the providers that we need, but have an abundance of middlemen.
By changing how we approach these problems and how resolute we are in wanting to resolve them, we can make the changes that need to be made in order for future generations to have a better quality of life than we have had.
And while we forge forward, we should not lose sight that there will be those who wish to trip us up. The naysayers, who'll try to prevent progress from happening, should be ignored. The media has tangled and twisted the truth, reported on out and out lies without mentioning that they are lies and have in general shirked their responsibility to report the news. There are some good eggs out there and they know who they are, it is the bad eggs that we must look out for. It is up to us citizens to make sure that misinformation is identified and we educate one another in the truth. Yes folks, it is time to get real.
Finally, the two elements: money and religion. The two items used as they are to control people, manipulate them into believing their importance, even though they are completely man-made concepts. It is these elements that have been used to maintain a master/slave society and prevent human beings in general from being as free as we are told we are. Regarding money we speak of a free market system even though we actually have a dual market system, legitimate and illegitimate, legal and illegal. Regarding religion, what can you say about superstition superseding reality?
So what is America supposed to do when we have one group whose sole purpose is to subterfuge real progress and one group that doesn't want to move too far too fast? If we want to progress we must collectively push ourselves forward bearing in mind that all the while there are some on the other side that are pushing the cart in the other direction. I say since we have a bigger team, we push that cart right over them and don't look back. Those who are not rundown or survive may follow along if they wish, but the majority of us want to live together and work together and play together so if you're not down with that, so be it, we are moving on without you.
