When my family gathers for the holidays, they seem to surpass the prior year's threshold for right wing and racist remarks. If this Thanksgiving was any indication, I've got my work cut out for me this Christmas.
This Thanksgiving's remarks include:
"Where there many colored at the store?"
The Responses:
"A little bit of 'everything.' "The Asians were rude." "The Puerto RIC-ANs are the worst."
Alan Iverson back with the Sixers?
"He's a typical jig if there ever was one."
Response to PA GOP election fraud?
"Those are trumped up charges. It's all political. Perzel never did anything illegal when I worked with him." *note that the charges were brought up by a fellow Republican.
And lastly...
"Let those Guantanamo inmates go to Chicago, where Obama's from." "They could get out."
Me:
"They aren't the Terminator; there's a lot of bad people in prison. I don't sit around pissing my pants."
Them:
:Silence: "He shouldn't say where they are going!"
I need more "pissing my pants" mojo for the holidays. Any suggestions on how to deal with wing nuts in the family when outnumbered?
