So I've been a bit busy with life lately and haven't been watching much cable news, or any news for that matter. Today though, wanting to catch up with some of the political news on the elections and hear what Keith and Rachel and others had to say about it, I flicked over to MSNBC. Unfortunately, I was greeted instead by Tiger Woods. Apparently, in the Pittsburgh area, MSNBC has been replaced by the Golf Channel.
I'm pretty laid back, but this made me unusually furious. MSNBC was one of the few news channels where I could hear from people who thought like I did, and now it's gone. I immediately called Comcast to unleash my fury.
I was told that at my level of service, basic cable, it is no longer available. No way can I afford to upgrade my service, (and nor would I....it is Comcast after all) so no more MSNBC for me.
The agent on the phone also told me that Comcast had nothing to do with this decision, but that because MSNBC is a national cable network, it was no longer available in a non digital format. Oddly enough, CNN and Fox are still in the same place.
The call ended with me placing a channel request for MSNBC and the agent telling me that my effort was probably futile. Awesome.
Gotta go...hopefully Phil Mickelson is going to be giving his take on NY-23 in a little bit while he walks to the 17th hole.
