U.S. Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) Wednesday night on Greta van Susteren's show:
GRETA: On a grading scale, A to F, the existing one that you're debating, the bill now, what's the grade that you give this bill?
COBURN: Do I give this bill?
GRETA: Yeah.
COBURN: A 'D'.
Now, keep in mind that Tom Coburn says that this bill will literally kill old people...and he just gives it a 'D'? What in the hell would it take for this man to give a bill an 'F'? Fund ACORN or something?
I mean, obviously, Coburn is full of crap when he says health care reform will kill people. Quite the opposite. Doing nothing, allowing prices to skyrocket and the uninsured to languish -- that will kill people.
But if he really believes the words coming out of his mouth, why not give the bill an 'F'?
I'll concede the fact that a 'D' isn't anything to brag about, but hey, it's still a passing grade, and that means that either (a) Tom Coburn believes it's okay to kill old people or (b) Tom Coburn doesn't believe a word he's saying and just wants to sound 'reasonable,' or as some loons like to say "Fair and Balanced."
Update:
For it to get an F
it would have to kill rich old people.
We all differ in ways that matter. But we're all the same in the ways that matter most.
