I, for one, was disappointed with what happened last night in the Senate. The fact that the public option was taken out for a toothless bill is devastating. But the fact that a health bill actually made it to the Senate is a miracle in itself. Do I expect this bill to change my life in any way? Not really, but I have to admit that seeing a bill in itself was a sight to see.
That's the good part, now let me get on to the main gist of my diary.
I have read numerous diaries last night. Some that made sense, others that made me cringe. Yet 90 percent of the diaries had such vitriol that I wonder what would come out of this and I have come to a conclusion:
Nothing.
Nothing will come out of the yelling, screaming, "defecting," name-calling, and spewing of Kossacks angry at Senate leadership, President Obama, the "mainstream" media, about life in general. In fact, I give the so-called "Teabaggers" more credit than the Kossacks in here. At least they are organized. They get the media on their side. They know how to get publicity. They actually do something.
And what do Kossacks do? They sound like the song from the movie Bob Roberts:
But they complain
And complain, and complain..
That's all that Kossacks do. Many do have agendas that they actually put forward such as the anti-war movement. But others get their jollies from moaning and complaining and not doing anything about it.
This comment in a recent blog says it all:
Yeah yeah, everyone's angry (1+ / 0-)
Could we just rec up about five diaries saying "I'm angry!" and nothing else so otherwise intelligent people don't have to go on and say lots of stupid things in the process of trying to express their anger?
C'est la vie.
Until Kossacks actually get up and actually do something, Daily Kos will continue to be nothing but a haven for those who had nothing better to do with their lives but complain and complain and complain.......
I have mentioned in the past that I am a proud support of this President and I will continue to do so. Call it Kool Aid drinking or Stockholm Syndrome, but unless the United States becomes a third rate banana republic within a few years, I truly don't see an uprising from the left except for numerous diaries screaming for the heads of Harry Reid, Rahm Emmanuel, Tim Geitner and others.
