Looks like Cable mega-giant will be buying out NBC.
My first reaction to this is, "What's going to happen to my favorite TV shows??"
My second reaction is, "Oh wait, I don't watch anything on NBC (or MSNBC, for that matter).
My third reaction, however, was, "Holy crap, a cable company with notoriously awful customer service and a penchant for ripping off it's customers is buying an over-the-air broadcast company!"
The implications for this are potentially huge. This even could possibly give Comcast more sway with the whole Net Neutrality issue.
Of course, it's not a 100% thing yet...the government still has to give this a once-over and make sure there aren't any anti-trust laws and rules being broken here (although after they let the two satellite radio companies merge, I lost all faith in anti-trust enforcement in this country). I suspect the satellite service providers like Dish Network and DirecTV are on the horn with their lobbyists right now getting ready to put the brakes on this thing.
So yeah..I guess this where I apologize for this being such a short diary but there doesn't seem to be much news on this just yet. I did a quick search and didn't see anything on this story here. Hope it's not a rehash.
