My head reels, but really, you can't make this shit up.
From Jon Walker at FDL:
One of the big components of the new possible “deal” in the Senate would be to create a new, national Office of Personnel Management (OPM)-run program.
... Rumors are that if the non-profit insurance companies fail to offer good enough plans on this new OPM exchange, it would trigger the creation of a real public option.
The Office of Personnel Management would come under the purview of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which Lieberman chairs.
Who is on that committee?
Joseph I. Lieberman Chairman (Aetna)
Susan M. Collins (ME)
Carl Levin (MI)
Tom Coburn (OK)
Daniel K. Akaka (HI)
John McCain (AZ)
Thomas R. Carper (DE)
George V. Voinovich (OH)
Mark L. Pryor (AR)
John Ensign (NV)
Mary L. Landrieu (LA)
Lindsey Graham (SC)
Claire McCaskill (MO)
Robert F. Bennett (UT)
Jon Tester (MT)
Roland Burris (IL)
Paul G. Kirk, Jr. (MA)
They are all really itching to pull that trigger, aren't they?
