There has been some talk (here, here, here) throughout this extremely long process of attempting to get universal health care for all American citizens, that the final draft of any health care reform be named after Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy.
I beg you all, if this abomination of a bill ever gets brought up for a vote and it lacks a public option while having Senator Kennedy's name attached to it, everyone MUST call their elected officials and demand his name be taken off the bill. This is far from the reform Senator Kennedy advocated. Placing his name upon a bill resembling what we are being told currently would be a complete disgrace. It would be akin to the Brady Bill simply banning BB guns. Our "Democratic Majority" should be ashamed of themselves and should frankly tell Lieberman his "support" is no longer needed or welcomed in this caucus.
As a side note, I'd really like someone to tell me what exactly this bill would accomplish at this point (no single payer, no public option, no Medicare buy-in).
