File this under "insult to injury": Our beloved politicians just passed the largest military bill in the history of planet earth. If you add together all the military spending on the planet, we're spending half of it.
We have two completely unnecessary and illegal wars going on, we have bases all around the world, and we're building a billion dollar embassy in Pakistan to match the one in Baghdad that's bigger than the Vatican.
These things are creating such an enormous budget defecit that the dollar is tanking, and the entire world is losing faith in it.
So what's next for Barack Obama Incorporated? How about studying how he can raise your taxes, and cut social security and medicare to help close the budget gap?
Yeah, that Obama. Fighting for the common man.
CNN Exclusive: Obama weighs ordering new debt commission

From CNN Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry
The Obama administration is considering ordering a debt commission after Sens. Gregg and Conrad proposed a similar move last week.
Washington (CNN) - CNN has learned President Obama is seriously considering an executive order to create a bipartisan commission that could weigh sweeping tax increases and spending cuts to popular programs like Social Security and Medicare in order to try slash the soaring federal deficit.
Documents obtained by CNN show that top advisers to the President have been privately weighing various versions of a commission and there are differing opinions about how to structure it. Officials say that some inside the administration are pushing for a narrow mandate because it's too complicated to tackle reform of the tax system and various popular federal spending programs all at once.
"Each major category of fiscal policy - Social Security, Medicare, discretionary spending, revenues - raises a complex and idiosyncratic array of policy problems and prescriptions," according to the documents detailing some of the administration's deliberations. "Achieving consensus on any one of these issues - much less all of them simultaneously - may be more than the political system can reasonably accommodate."
How much you want to bet they never even mention the gargantuan waste of money that is our military and "contractor" expenditures? The Pentagon is a sacred cow in this culture, in all the talk of budget defecits and spending gone wild, the Pentagon is never mentioned instead it's always "entitlements" (there's a word, huh!?) and government "waste".
Never the trillions that go missing through the Pentagon.
Anybody remember this?
(CBS) On Sept. 10, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld declared war. Not on foreign terrorists, "the adversary's closer to home. It's the Pentagon bureaucracy," he said.
He said money wasted by the military poses a serious threat.
"In fact, it could be said it's a matter of life and death," he said.
Rumsfeld promised change but the next day – Sept. 11-- the world changed and in the rush to fund the war on terrorism, the war on waste seems to have been forgotten.
Just last week President Bush announced, "my 2003 budget calls for more than $48 billion in new defense spending."
More money for the Pentagon, CBS News Correspondent Vince Gonzales reports, while its own auditors admit the military cannot account for 25 percent of what it spends.
"According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.
$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America. To understand how the Pentagon can lose track of trillions, consider the case of one military accountant who tried to find out what happened to a mere $300 million.
"We know it's gone. But we don't know what they spent it on," said Jim Minnery, Defense Finance and Accounting Service.
Wow, the Pentagon is so lucky 9/11 changed everything! We might have actually started looking for those missing trillions.
Anyway, Obama is now considering raising your taxes and cutting your "entitlements" to pay for this.
Thought you might want to know.
Have a good night/morning.
Here's to seven more years of Obama! (seeing as how nobody here seems to want to exercise their Democratic rights and actually primary his ass in 2012. What a crazy idea! )
