Ho Jo wears his big brass ones around his neck. He walks around loudly threatening to filibuster anything that doesn't have 'R' in front of it.
On the other hand, there are Bernie Sanders and Russ Feingold.
Bernie Sanders
will be unable to vote for the Senate Health Care Reform bill in its current state of being. He will, he continued, endeavor to work to make it a better bill.
What does that really mean? Will he not vote for the bill or for cloture? Big difference. He won't say.
Russ Feingold doesn't like it either, but he won't say whether he'll vote for it for not.
And he
voted against women’s preventative health care, voting against Sen. Mikulski’s amendment, which guarantees women will have full access to tests and procedures that could save their lives.
Economic rhetoric trumps women's well being, obviously.
“I am disappointed that the Senate health care debate has gotten off on the wrong foot. The first amendment voted on would add almost a billion dollars to our budget deficits over the next 10 years. We should make sure health plans cover women’s preventive care and screenings, but we should also find a way to pay for it, rather than adding that cost to the already mountainous public debt. At a time of record deficits, Americans expect fiscal responsibility from their representatives in Congress.”
The "progressives" pick and choose what they're progressive about. They also refuse to take a stand when it really matters. We need to point our fire in the right direction.
