We don’t know what the Lion of the Senate would be doing today if he were forced to view this Democratic sellout called "Healthcare Reform" – thankfully Teddy has thrown off this mortal coil and is now beyond such torture.
But we do know what the heir to Teddy Kennedy is doing in the face of Barack Obama’s disgusting sellout of the very people, progressives, and unions that put him in the White House: Howard Dean is not swallowing the steaming pile of shit being dished out and called chocolate truffles by so many Democrats and pundits (Ezra Klein) that should know better.
Dr. Dean is a man of spine, intelligence, and character – three things Obama and his henchmen are sorely lacking. He’s not afraid to call a spade a spade, and to demand that this pile of steaming shit being handed to the very progressive Democrats that put the party in office last year be killed.
Kill the bill and start over. It’s that simple. It’s what should have been done in the first place, had Barack Obama had any interest in the bill creation beyond showing up and grandstanding for the "reform" bill signing ceremony.
Barack Obama and his Democratic henchmen fear Dr. Dean – and with good reason. Dr. Dean is all they are not, and Dr. Dean has something that He-Of-The-Hidden-School-Records-and-Bizarrely-Absent-Scholarly-Publishing-Record does not: Dr. Dean has depth and principles. Something Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and the smirking Gibbs (and they said Bush smirked!), who had time yesterday to slam Dr. Dean but said not one word against the stonewalling Republicans or Joe Lieberman, the devil that threw the match to this disaster.
Dr. Dean, we are with you. We knew you were on Obama’s shitlist when he didn’t give you an appointment (no problem for Van Jones, though!). Barack Obama hates you because you are everything he and his henchmen are not, and because you have the courage and character to stand up for your convictions.
I’ve always had respect for Dr. Dean; but yesterday, I gained newfound respect for two others: Markos and Keith Olbermann. Sure, in the past, I may have called out Keith’s sonorous bellowing, but I will never think of him the same again after last night’s brave "Special Comment." And Markos just keeps getting better and better with every appearance. Give this man his own show!
Obama and his henchmen have no use for us, the Progressives, that put him where he is. Let us return the favor and rally around the man who should have been President years ago: Howard Dean.
