Well, it appears that there has been a new assault in the War on Christmas, and it was launched by...the Republican National Committee. As noted on Americablog, a Christmas email greeting sent out today from the RNC omits the word "Christmas"!!!! Hey Michael Steele, what's up with that??
The Republicans' assault against Christmas starts out in the subject line of today's email from the RNC: "Holiday Greetings from the RNC". "Holiday" greetings?!? WTF? How dare the RNC use the term "Holiday Greetings" instead of "Christmas Greetings." They obviously have a problem with celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
It gets worse. You cannot find the word "Christmas" anywhere in the five-paragraph email. The fourth paragraph starts out with this:
"May the spirit of the season be with you today and throughout the New Year."
Spirit of the season?? What season?? Why are the Republican so afraid of saying the "Christmas season."??? Christmas haters.
If you aren't outraged yet, you will be when you read this sacrilegious statement at the end of the RNC email:
"Wishing you and your loved ones safe and happy holidays."
Happy Holidays? Are you freakin' kidding me? Congressman Henry Brown (R-SC) states better than I ever could the deep-rooted, anti-Christian problem with "Happy Holidays":
"We forget the real meaning of Christmas by using 'happy holidays' or 'joy to the seasons' or some other word rather than 'Merry Christmas.'"
So I ask you Republican National Committee, why do you hate Christmas?
