Ok, so not so much of a DrinkFest, but the beer was excellent, as was the conversation. Plutonium Page was a true highlight, and she put up with all of our Gregoire/Rossi histronics with great aplomb.
We did a little strategizing for how we can work locally, efforts that I hope we can follow up on, and get more Washington folks from this board involved in. I'm struck again by the intelligence, passion, and commitment of the people this Daily Kos thing has brought together, and that is only reinforced by getting to know them in "meat life" (to borrow my favorite Dancing Larryism).
For our first post-election get together, it was less maudlin than I expected. There was more energy and less despair than I've personally been feeling, and it buoyed my spirits. For that, thank you all. We were incredibly lame, and did not get a picture with our guest star, Page. We'll make up for that when you're here in January, Page.
Ok, starting from the left, that's me (sorry the boots don't show, eugene). Then the incomparable Em (who should be doing some diaries about transportation issues, IMO), her hubby and my coworker CMK (and you are sworn to secrecy about our work discussion, right?), the ever-mysterious Lahdee (we respect your privacy, friend), intrepid gubenatorial race number cruncher and reporter N in Seattle, and the incredibly aptly named Maccheerful.
[Update] I forgot guidess! She didn't make it into the picture, but also graced us with her presence. Guidess, I'm waiting for that insider info on
Spellbound!
