If you google "Ted Kennedy" and search his news entries today, the first title comes from the Boston Globe reading "Kennedy's absence has Reid seeking votes."
If you google "Norm Coleman" and search his news entries today, the first title comes from USA Today and reads "Pace picking up in Minn. Senate trial"- which I originally thought meant something, but it really doesn't. Nothing has changed.
Today's stimilus vote in the senate is unknown right now, but if any of the senators change their minds this bill will not pass. Its unfortunate that were missing two democratic senators- one for health reasons, and the other as MIA because of republican obstructionists.
Im terribly sad to say it, but I think its about time for Ed. Kennedy to take his leave of the senate. After all he has done and fought for, its tragic that this bout of cancer has arrived at such a crucial time in our country. However, Mr. Kennedy will not be able to make it to the capital today because of his need for recovery time after spending last weekend in DC. This bill represents many of the things Sen. Kennedy has championed and he can't even be there to help it pass. We love the man so much, I think we should let him go. It must be killing him not to be able to be in DC pushing for this. Mr. Kennedy has been an asset to the country but his absence today is very reaveling about his condition.
As far as Mr. Coleman is concerned, he might as well be the Senator from Minnesota because he would just be voting NO on the stimulus anyway. By tying up this senate race, this vote of nothing is becoming EXTREMELY seious to the future of our National Security. This has got to end.
PS> Please don't castrate me for my observations about Kennedy, I just think that at a time like this we need all of our bullets ready to go.
