I'm a Camp Obama dropout- did the numbers and figured out I couldn't afford to drive all over Iowa as an intern, so I did my best as a volunteer instead. During the summer of 2007 I met dozens of inspiring and determined Obama interns and staffers in Iowa. You guys and gals kept me fired up and brought me back after I spent the fall working to refill my bank account. You worked long and hard to make Obama our president, and he couldn't have done it without you.
But I worried about you, especially the interns, a lot. Obama's campaign paid the lowest wages to staffers and gave the least expense money to interns. I heard from interns who were going broke paying for housing, and I don't blame you at all for cleaning out the buffet when Barack appeared at the Surf Ballroom and who knows how many other campaign events where food was on the agenda.
Then, after all that hard work, you got laid off into the worst job market since the depression. So yes, I'm worried about you great guys and gals that moved the earth to get Obama elected. So lets us know how your doin, and if you need a job or a place to stay, don't be afraid to put in a plug for yourself. Have at it!
