The latest in the line of incendiary GOP rhetoric comes from none other than Jim DeMint, who ominously warns that conservatives might have to "take to the streets" to prevent Obama from selling socialism:
Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina, the only member of the senate to earn a perfect rating from the American Conservative Union, called President Obama "the world’s best salesman of socialism" on Friday in describing his prime time speech earlier this week.
DeMint, a fierce opponent of government expansion, told the CPAC crowd that conservatives might have to "take to the streets to stop America’s slide into socialism."
The comment comes fresh on the heels of John Bolton's joke about nuking Chicago, prompting guffaws from the cowardly neocon crowd:
[Iran's nuclear arsenal is a] tiny [threat] compared to the Soviet Union," Bolton said to the group, "but is the loss of one American city — pick one at random: Chicago — is that a tiny threat?"
The audience erupted in cheers and laughter at the idea of Obama’s home city being obliterated.
Yes, the party of "patriots" and troop-supporters, just one day into their self-flagellation festival, have already shown themselves to be the vindictive, bloodthirsty, immature losers that they are.
But what else would you expect of the party led by someone who accused the now-President of "palling around with terrorists" and a hypocritical drug addict who openly admitted that he wants the President to fail?
The one consolation is that these losers are finally out of power, on every front, and they don't seem to realize that their actions and statements since January 20 have only served to make them less popular, which essentially means that they've accomplished the impossible. Now if only they could learn how to come up with decent ideas that resonate with the American people.
UPDATE: I just saw that DanK Is Back has an excellent diary up detailing how Joe the Plumber thinks some members of Congress should be shot. There is just no end for these people.
