Yes, I'm referring to this diary
In which the diarist states the following.
CNN is reporting that It was Chris Dodd who inserted the language that allowed the AIG bonuses to go forward. Dodd apparently appeared and admited it himself, claiming to be acting at the request of people at the Treasury Department. He inserted a clause that negated the Wyden/Snow amenment, required companies to pay their bonuses> Dodd is being accused of taking more AIG money than any other Senator, he denied this story on camera just yesterday.
This is bad. Dodd was already in trouble for re-election next year after moving his family to Iowa for the Presidential campaign. Now I would suspect he's political toast. He may not even last his term.

And IMHO this could take Geitner down too unless some real serious splainin happens real fast.
Sorry for the short diary but this seems important to me.
However, TPMMuckraker has the transcript
BLITZER: What I hear you saying is that, you personally, you did this in order -- at the request of officials at the Treasury Department, Timothy Geithner, among others.
DODD: Well, I didn't say who it was. But just say this, I wouldn't have modified my own amendment at my own insistence. I mean, I spent a long time to having people try to be -- change it. And obviously they came. And the alternative was losing the amendment. And I didn't think we should do that at all.
BLITZER: Who asked you at the Treasury Department to do it?
DODD: Well, they were people, obviously, coming and negotiating with the staffs back and forth. And I don't know their names specifically, it was at a staff level, people were talking about it.
BLITZER: So it -- but it wasn't just your members of your own staff at the Senate Banking Committee who did this, you personally knew about it at the time, is that right?
DODD: No, I didn't know the exact details. I knew they were coming with modifications to it, and whether or not we'd accept some.
Repeating the last part Dodd specifically states
No, I didn't know the exact details. I knew they were coming with modifications to it, and whether or not we'd accept some.
Also the diarist said, again repeating,
He inserted a clause that negated the Wyden/Snow amenment, required companies to pay their bonuses
That statement is a flat out lie, Dodd did no such thing, Huffpost is all over this
According to Wyden, he "spent hours on the Senate floor," working to get the bipartisan amendment passed. He succeeded -- not a single Senator voted against the provision. "But," says Wyden, "it died in conference."
So who killed it? Wyden doesn't know.
Think about that for a second. We live in a country where one of the 100 most powerful people in government, the cosponsor of the amendment in question, has no clue how it got removed in the Senate-House conference committee -- or if it was taken out of the legislation even before it made it into conference.
Also, as commenters reported
Firedoglake debunked this story
As did Glenn Greenwald
So in summary we have a total BS diary on the rec list that has all the trappings of a troll diary, please go unrecommend it...
