My lights are on. Not gonna apologize.
Here's the deal. I will not turn off my furnace -- it broke down two weeks ago and I had to pay 1 complete unemployment check to replace the fan motor, and that was with the repair co cutting me a break. It would cost more to let the house cool for an hour and then reheat it. And I've spent the winter with it between 63 and 64 degrees in here, so, I'm conserving as much as I can there.
My frequently-used light bulbs are them curly jobbies. Doesn't it take as much power to cycle them on and off as they use in an hour?
My computer is on.
Do I think it's a good idea for cities and states and nations to focus attention on issues with a big demonstration? Sure.
But we cannot let them think that all they need to do is turn off some of the display lights for an hour, once a year.
Short and grumpy. Today is my belligerent day. File this as an extended WYFP comment.
Update -- just wanna say I'm not slagging people who participated. Just explainin' why I didn't.
