This just a very short diary, but it is warranted because it covers a rather important item for safeguarding the efficacy of polls on dKos.
I have noticed over the past few months that poll takers have increasingly stopped serving pie in their polls......
Good polls are important and helpful.
But bad push-polling where the author tries to get you to choose between phony straw-man options undermine the efficacy of dKos polls in general.
"Pie" is a way for both the author and the community to give and get feedback that "I don't want to make these choices." A large number of pie-eaters means "This really was a bogus poll."
Both the author and the community need this info.
It is much more effective than just blowing off the poll. (The author won't get the non-message).
ACTION REQUEST:
If a diarist offers no pie, please offer up a comment:
Where's my pie, please?
A bit of a pain but it should get the message across.
Now. What would this diary be without a poll? :)
