The weekend conservative talking heads are cluck clucking about how the Democrats are distracting the nation from its problems by focusing on a talk show host. Unfortunately, liberals are responding by mistakenly repeating the nonsense that Limbaugh is, in fact, the leading Republican spokesperson.
He’s not its leading spokesperson and it’s counterproductive to insist to the public that he is. Instead, we should point out that when the Conservative Political Action Committee gives him a standing ovation, while chanting "Rush, Rush, Rush," they are endorsing the kinds of rhetoric, divisiveness and demagoguery he has made famous.
The true leaders of the Republican party, members of CPAC, are proclaiming their own values and standards of conduct when they wildly embrace Limbaugh, and that is what is important to get across to the public.
At the risk of being accused of shameless self-promotion, I will again point out that the book, The Great Limbaugh Con, can be downloaded free by going to The Great Limbaugh Con
