If someone tells a Politico reporter that the sky is green, will it be regurgitated reported on without comment? Apparently so:
"This is a defining moment, and there is overwhelming empathy with folks who are scared to death about the direction this country is going," Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) told POLITICO. "All of a sudden, you have the president taking over General Motors, the president taking over the financial industry and now the health care industry? I think there will be even a larger outcry coming from our constituents at the ballot box next time."
First, on the country's direction:
The number of Americans who believe that the nation is headed in the right direction has roughly tripled since Barack Obama's election ...
And there will be "even a larger outcry ... at the ballot box"? Even louder than the Democrats winning the White House and increasing their majorities in both the House and the Senate? Too bad there wasn't a reporter present to ask Chambliss if that's what he meant.
