They say insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. General Motors has been downsizing its American workforce for years now, in the hopes that it can turn a profit by having less workers to pay and less plants to keep open. And in an announcement today, GM said that their plan to avoid bankruptcy was to downsize more workers and close more plants.
Somehow I don’t see this working. You would’ve thought that the idiocy of laying off workers to turn a profit (as opposed to converting the plants to build higher demand vehicles) would’ve gone out the door with Rick Wagoner. Unfortunately the stupidity still exists at the top and those of us at the bottom are suffering for their mistakes. Again.
