Hello! If community diaries, meta diaries, or World of Warcraft give you hives, you've found the wrong diary. Also, not a good place to discuss how much you hate WoW and want to get everyone to play your MMO. Just sayin'.
Wanted to give you an update on how the guild was doing, and talk about getting a tabard.
The details will be under the flip.
Well, for those of you who haven't read the forums at Wreck List, I'm going to quote Eddie in ME's guild update in it's entirety:
Some "update" material for you. Mostly for current players of the game, or of other MMOs, even if not in our guild:
- Liberals like helping people. It's true. People have listened to the requests of the GMs and officers, and we have active crafters for every single trade. On top of that, we have so many people gathering things for the crafters that the guild vault is always packed full with goodies for everyone to use in their crafting. We have multiple players who are not lagging behind in their crafts, but instead lagging behind in levels in order to further their crafts. This is backwards from the norm, and rather cool.
Every guild that I have ever seen in the game is short on healers at some point. Formation of new guilds always involves this painful search for healing classes and often takes forever. Meanwhile, our guild not only has enough healers, we have so many that we'll need some of them to play damage dealer specs. Wreck List is the first guild I have ever seen whose one main roster problem is too many healers.
- The first of our newly created level 1 characters will probably reach Outland sometime this weekend. Pinutos is currently level 55 and hauling ass toward 58. He'll be in Northrend probably by next weekend, based on his current pace (and the fact I'll probably powerlevel him in Hellfire Ramparts :p).
- Current membership who considers Wreck List a primary guild, or a secondary guild worth investing a lot of time into is roughly 20-25. There are about 10 more who stop in and hang out with us from time to time; they represent most of our Death Knights. 100 is a marker to shoot for in a guild to ensure that you can raid all content in the game, but we are currently equipped to do 5-man dungeons in peak time once everyone is leveled, and close to being able to do a 10-man raid -- we have most of the necessary parts (short an off-tank, I think), just not all online at once.
What we need:
- Tanks. We don't have enough players playing tanks. Death Knights can kinda-sorta be tanks, but warriors or Paladins would be better.
- Coin donations. I've put in 1,500 gold toward bank tabs. Beyond that bank donations have been coming in, but not as quick as I'd like. Need that next bank tab.
- PEOPLE! We need more members! Those of us playing together are having a blast and enjoying each other's company, but we'll want to raid together and that means more people to join us.
We actually have too many healers. For the love of Hodir!
Personally, I think Death Knights can tank just fine. That I play one has absolutely nothing to do with it.
A couple of things. When I was at the Netroots Nation in Second Life meeting last night, some people suggested that we help out as a guild. We may even have the opportunity to have a recruitment booth set up.
If we do, I was thinking of giving out plush Hordies (if I or someone can make them) and T-shirts with our tabard on the front and sayings on the back like "For the Horde", "I faceroll", and other suggestions.
Of course, this means we're going to have to finally get a tabard. I want to buy it tonight - so post suggestions below. I think we all agreed on orange with pootie, we just need to settle on borders and icon color - or we can deal with Moody's fiat :)
So, that's where the guild is at this week. I'll leave off with some Second Life links if guildies want to start setting up - to get an SL av that looks like your WoW toon, you should start soon.
