If there was a worse "Real Time with Bill Maher", I don't remember it. On this show, packed with dumbbells like Bush's former speechwriter, a guy who wrote a book on how the Republican Party can repackage itself to get the votes of working class/average income folks, and Sam Donaldson, who spent a lot of time kissing the feet of Ronald Reagan in the 80's, while making millions by pretending he was "tough" on him.
Despite some strong disagreements on occasion, I'm a huge fan of "Real Time with Bill Maher". But his show last Friday, (April 3) was possibly the worst he's ever done. Among other things, this show featured the following:
Two right-wingers and one moderate conservative on the panel.
A consensus that nuclear power was "absolutely safe" and "the only way to meet our energy needs in the future."
Maher's statement that "the surge worked" and he'll be the "first liberal to admit it."
Maher also gave more publicity to "Joe The Plumber" (whose real name isn't Joe and who isn't an actual plumber.) Maher allowed him to ignore his questions and promote his nonsense about "eliminating the IRS".
Maher pitched a lot of softballs to the right-wingers on the panel and offered virtually no defense and no rebuttal when the three of them started slobbering over their love of nuclear energy.
A truly bad show in my opinion. What are your thoughts?
