OK...so this week have brought about many "oh snap!!" moments on tv, radio and print. So, I would like to present the first "Oh Snap!!" Awards. Each week, I will find one "Oh Snap!!" moment from forms of newspaper, radio, tv, internet, etc... I will list them with a clip, parts of the article, etc... and then have a poll for everyone to vote on for the weekly winner. This week, there are 3 that will be listed that I have chosen. They are.....
- Roger Ebert Pwns Bill-o
Roger Ebert's memo to Bill O'Reilly was brilliant in my opinion. It was historically factual, humorous, intelligent, and sarcastic all rolled into one. Here are examples.
To be in an O'Reilly Hall of Fame would be a cruel blow to any newspaper
provide a liberal voice in Chicago to counter the Tribune, which opposed an American war against Hitler. I'm sure you would have sided with the Trib at the time.
My editor informs me that "very few" readers complained about the disappearance of your column, adding, "many more complained about Nancy
Raise the bridge! I have an erection!
- Republican caller Pwns Rush "Pill Popper" Limbaugh
A "republican" caller compares Rush to a brainwashed Nazi. Yes...any dem could have called and pretended to be a republican. However, it was great to see Sir Pill Popsalot on the defensive. The "no, your the one who is brainwashed" defense shows Rush's lack of response and proves the caller's point precisely. Reminds me of a 1st grader..."I'm not a nerd. You're the nerd!!"
3)National Review Tells Coleman to Concede
Seriously Coleman...the National Review. Need I say more? as many diaries have pointed out, this is not the only time in recent days, the National Review has called on him to do so. This is not a typical "Oh Snap!!" moment, but in my book, it is due to me never seeing this one coming.
So, there you have it folks....the three nominees. Let the voting begin.
My Pick: Roger Ebert
