On this Memorial Day weekend, I'd like to call out our previous vice president and any ReThug or media talking head who repeats the outrageous lie that the Bush/Cheney administration "kept Americans safe" after 9/11.
Who the fuck do these bastards think the 4,000 + soldiers who died in Iraq were? They were Americans. More Americans died as a result of terrorist attacks in Iraq than died on 9/11.
But to Dick Cheney, the lives of these brave Americans serving their country don't count. America was kept safe. We were safe to attend the funerals of our fathers, brothers, husbands, wives, moms, and sisters. We were safe to watch as tens of thousands of our brave soldiers returned with physical or emotional scars that will be with them, and us, for the rest of our lives. We were safe to watch as the most cowardly of all US administrations, filled with chickenhawks who never served, sent our brave men & women to die.
And now these chicken hawk bastards top off those crimes against America by hurling the ultimate insult to our troops: your lives, and your deaths, DON'T COUNT. They don't matter. We kept America safe, pay no attention to the 4,000 + new graves that hold our brave soldiers, the tens of thousands of grieving family members who've lost their loved ones.
Of all the lies, this is the biggest one.
Traitorous, murderous, troop-hating bastards. On this Memorial Day, let's all do our part to make sure that although the previous administration didn't consider troops to be Americans, we do. Let's support our veterans groups the way they deserve to be supported. These Americans lives & deaths did matter, and do matter. Never let those chickenhawk motherf$%^ers pretend they didn't.
Our troops matter. Remember their sacrifice, even if the previous administration thinks they don't count.
UPDATE:
I apologize to anyone who is offended by the title, especially anyone out there who's lost a loved one. i agree that it is a horrible title, painful to read.
but i chose it deliberately to point out just how outrageous the lie Cheney & co are spreading is. "Dead American soldiers don't matter," is exactly what these chickenhawks are saying when they claim to have kept AMERICANS safe. the soldiers are Americans, they did not keep them safe. their insistence that they kept Americans safe can only be justified if they believe that our soldiers lives don't count.
I am very very sorry to anyone who sees it and feels pain. I feel it needed to be said in all its ugliness.
