The nomination of Judge Sotomayor has pushed them over the edge. The faux outrage by the non-elected is almost deafening. They have become 5-year olds, throwing temper tantrums on TV, on twitter and on the internet.
President Obama keeps the pressure on and their heads have finally exploded. Join me below for a front row seat to view the brains on the wall.
There is brain matter everywhere after President Obama nominated Judge Sotomayor. On twitter, the internet, TV and newspapers, Rush, Pat, Karl, Sean, Ann and a bunch of crazies have blown their wad in their opposition to Obama's pick. Just when they were getting used to the idea of an African American as the leader of the free world, he goes and makes a decision. How dare he! It is a decision that represents a smackdown that the usual suspects may not recover from. Selecting a supreme court justice is the ultimate decision, probably second to going to war that has far-reaching, long-lasting implications. Here's some examples of the brain matter on the wall. Pat Buchanan is first in the batting order:
Buchanan on MSNBC
Look, are you going to let me talk, Lawrence? You got down to four women, not a single white male...all women, and then we're going to pick a Hispanic....
Yes.... No, it did not occur to me. You mean there are no white males qualified? That is an, that would be an act of bigotry to make a statement like that.....
There certainly have been qualified in the past. I don't doubt there are but probably half of the great lawyers and judges are white males in this country and to rule them all out...why? Because of their sex and because of their race is wrong! I think at least it's affirmative action.
How did he come down to four women?
What were the criteria? One of them was it had to be a woman and the other it got down to being, hey it's a Hispanic. That's affirmative action!
I don’t say it’s an outrage, I say it’s affirmative action. They were picked because she’s a woman and a Hispanic and you know it as well as I do.
Then Newt bats second on Twitter
"Imagine a judicial nominee said 'my experience as a white man makes me better than a Latina woman.' Wouldn't they have to withdraw? New racism is no better than old racism," Gingrich wrote in a post on his blog.
"A white man racist nominee would be forced to withdraw. Latina woman racist should also withdraw," he added.
Rush is the clean up.
Not only does she lack the often discussed appropriate judicial temperament, it's worse than that. She brings a form of bigotry and racism to the court. I don't care, we're not supposed to say it, we're supposed to pretend it didn't happen, we're supposed to look at other things but it's the elephant in the room. The real question here that needs to be asked and nobody on our side from a columnist to a TV commentator to anybody in our party has the guts to ask, how can a president nominate such a candidate? And how can a party get behind such a candidate? That's what would be asked if somebody were foolish enough to nominate David Duke or pick somebody even less offensive. It is asked.
Now, imagine their reaction when the nominee is the first African American female.
