Substituting for Bill O’Reilly on Friday night, Laura Ingraham claimed moral outrage at Keith Olbermann and Michael Musto for comments that she says attacked the "physique" of Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA.
But Laura Ingraham is hardly the person who should be offering this criticism. Less than two months ago, Ingraham went after the weight of John McCain’s 24-year-old daughter Meghan, mocking her as being "plus-sized" and a "valley girl gone awry."
Here’s video of Ingraham now...and Ingraham then:
Aside from the rank hypocrisy of her attack, Ingraham should also keep in mind that Prejean is a professional model, and entered the political debate while wearing a swimsuit in a beauty pageant. Nobody should be surprised that Prejean’s physical appearance might be a topic of discussion.
And on a final side note, while Musto did make a somewhat strange and not particularly funny joke about Prejean once having been a homophobic man whose penis was removed, unless Ingraham knows something about Prejean that we don’t know, Musto wasn’t making a joke about her physique: he was making a joke about her bigoted attitude towards same-sex marriage.
