Torture Trials:Prosecute Cheney?
A Dodd supporter just sent us an extended version of the video clip we posted earlier. In this one, the Connecticut Democrat goes considerably farther in calling for hearings and possibly a criminal investigation into Bush-era interrogation tactics -- and suggests such a probe may need to focus on Dick Cheney's staff. Switching back to the waterboarding issue, he said: "I know a lot of people don't want to go back -- and the president said to look (ahead)... But in a sense not to prosecute people or pursue them when these acts have occurred is... to invite it again in some future administration." When a questioner asked him if such a probe should go "as high as Cheney's office," Dodd interrupted to say, "You gotta go where you gotta go."

Dodd then toggles from talking about Judiciary Committee Chairman Pat Leahy's plan to create a "Truth Commission" to his father's involvement in the Nuremberg trials and the issue of "the rule of law." .
