Via Fox, Randall Terry, the militant founder of Operation Rescue:
"George Tiller was a mass murderer and we cannot stop saying that," Terry said. "He was an evil man -- his hands were covered with blood."
Terry said he was now concerned that the Obama administration "will use Tiller's killing to intimidate pro-lifers into surrendering our most effective rhetoric and actions."
Via scarce at C&L, Terry says that he regrets the manner in which Tiller died. The problem, according to Terry, was that Tiller wasn't given a jury trial before being given "a proper execution."
Now we grieve for him that he was shot in this deplorable manner and he did not have a chance to get things right with his maker perhaps. Every man deserves to have a trial of a jury of his peers and then a proper execution, not to have somebody become judge, jury and executioner on their own.
And now, via Greg Sargent, Terry is doubling down:
Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue, will hold a press conference to discuss how the pro-life movement should deal with Dr. Tiller’s death...
Mr. Terry states: "We must not fear, we must not flinch, we must not retreat a single inch. George Tiller was a mass murderer, and we must continue to say so in his death just as we did in his life."
Unlike Terry, who can barely conceal his glee, some of these other groups are putting on a public front of contrition. But what they say now, in an effort to be politically correct, is far less important than what they said then, when they weren't nearly as circumspect about revealing their true mission: waging jihad against reproductive freedom.
