A rec list diary today urged kossacks to call and write the white house to vouch for single payer. When I was typing up mine, I thought about how to dumb it down a bit.
In the tail end of my high school days, the school began to introduce rubrics for determining how students preformed in a class: specific criteria to determine pass or failure. To the white house, I submitted the following rubic for true healthcare reform.
I deeply question how the healthcare debate is progressing. Heathcare should be simple, with a ridiculously easy rubric for grading. Sadly, congress is failing. I hope these simple guidelines for healthcare do not reach deaf ears.
- Reformed healthcare is healthcare that allows me to choose the doctor who is right for me.
- Reformed healthcare is healthcare allows the doctor chosen by me to choose the treatment that is right for me.
- Reformed healthcare is healthcare that is easy to understand, without confusing conditions.
- Reformed healthcare is one in which a patient does not have to wonder if he should seek medical attention when necessary.
- Reformed healthcare is healthcare where a condition isn't pre-existing - its a condition that needs to be treated.
- Reformed healthcare is healthcare that doesn't stop when treatments become expensive.
- Reformed healthcare is healthcare that won't abandon a patient.
- Reformed healthcare is healthcare that will not let patients die.
