Give it a rest already. Michael Jackson is dead. Big whoop. He made a couple nifty tunes, made a bunch of dough, and led a tragically flawed life - we get it.
Move on.
There are more important things going on in the world.
It's been, what, 24 hours since the Great Gloved One died and you're still giving him non-stop news coverage? I don't recall you doing that when the frikkin' POPE died.
From my own experience as a classical musician (tuba), I figured I'd do a little google search to see what coverage they gave to the two big deaths that happened recently in my field.
Arnold Jacobs, tuba, died 1998. The one of the foremost brass pedagogues whose teachings on breathing have had a massive and unparalleled effect on anyone who uses wind to facilitate their music making (ie, brass, woodwinds, vocals). Nothing. Not a peep.
Tommy Johnson, tuba, died 2006. Played in over 2000 film soundtracks (most famously Jaws), and one of the most influential teachers on the West Coast. Ditto.
Another big event in the brass world:
Adolph "Bud" Herseth, trumpet, retired from the CSO in 2001 (I got to see his last concert!!!). Not dead yet, thankfully. Considered by many to be the one of the greatest orchestral trumpet players to have ever lived. Nothing.

What about the worsening situation in Iran? Maybe it suddenly burst into a vibrant, flourishing democracy when we weren't looking. Maybe it continued its downward spiral into an increasingly brutal and repressive regime. I have no idea - you've been stuck on Michael Jackson for the past 24 hours.
Health care still needs to be fixed, but we wouldn't know that because all you can talk about was the tragically flawed life of Micheal Jackson.
The Obama administration is still doing its best to cover the ass of Bush's abhorrent torture program, but I guess Micheal Jackson is more important.
The Obama administration and the Democratic congress have done jack shit about repealing DOMA and DADT, despite it being the optimal time to do so what with the latest "family values" Republican burning in a pyre of his own hypocrisy. Or maybe they have. I wouldn't know. You won't shut up about Michael Jackson.
It's been nearly non-stop coverage since he died. You'd have thought he'd cured cancer for the amount of coverage he's been getting. Give it a fucking rest already.
Michael Jackson is dead.
Get over it.
